It was a fun season to watch and you gotta love the overachievers that were on the court at the end, but in the long run, it was the end of an era.
It was definitely the end of the T-Mac era and probably the end of the Yao Ming era. Can David Andersen from Australia hold the fort until either Yao gets back or the Rockets can rebuild with someone new? Doubtful. Will Trevor Ariza be an adequate stopgap for Tracy and the now departed Ron Artest? Double doubtful.
Wish 'em luch boys. They're gonna need it!

The Rockets finally made it out of the first round after 12 years of frustration for Yao Ming and company. Congratulations, guys!
Next up - the Lakers. Ouch.

One down, 3 to go!
The Rockets pulled off a mild upset last night in Portland by dominating the Trailblazers from start to finish. Yao was perfect and the rest of the team merely great as they carried out a perfect Rick Adelman gameplan with utmost efficiency.
Houston reclaimed the home court advantage they lost last week in Dallas. If they can scrape out a win on Tuesday, the Blazers will be in deep trouble.

Coming down to it
We're finally down to the last five games and Houston is well-positioned to earn home court advantage for the first round of the playoffs. Let's hear it from the net. How far will they go this year?

San Antonio Falls
We saw another great win yesterday by the Rockets over the San Antonio Spurs. Yao played strong defense against their big men and Ron Artest and the two point guards played under control. Luis Scola had a great game and is becoming an outstanding NBA forward.
Good job guys!

A Great Victory
The Rockets beat the N.O. Hornets tonight without Yao Ming. The rest of the team just decided to make it happen and put together a tough, gritty, defensive game that stands out as one of the best this season. Way to go guys!

Finally - not a flopper
Shaq comes to town tonight with the Phoenix Suns and Yao is glad to see him. Not that he loves playing against Shaq, but he's been playing against floppers (those who fake fouls by falling down) for the last few games and he's obviously frustrated. At least Shaq plays like a man.
